About the Role
MAI seeks a meticulous Accountant to manage daily financial operations. You will oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and monthly reconciliations while ensuring strict compliance across all school programs. Beyond technical execution, you will safeguard institutional resources through strong internal controls and proactive budget variance analysis, delivering the accurate, actionable financial data leadership needs to support the Academy’s educational mission and long-term sustainability.
What You Will Do
As the Accountant at Masters Academy International, you will serve as a vital steward of the institution’s financial health across all academic and extracurricular programs. Moving beyond standard technical execution, you will strengthen internal controls, protect institutional assets, and ensure strict compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Finally, you will play a key strategic role by leveraging ERP systems to design scalable financial workflows, navigating the balance between local U.S. operations and global infrastructure, and translating complex financial data into actionable insights that fuel the Academy’s long-term growth and educational mission.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 3 years of progressive accounting experience
Expertise: Demonstrated understanding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), double-entry bookkeeping, internal control frameworks, and full-cycle financial management.
Knowledge: Advanced proficiency with Excel, as well as accounting software
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within schools, athletics programs, nonprofits, or other mission-driven organizations; Experience in a startup environment or a small, growing team where roles must remain flexible.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this role is $85,000. Benefits for eligible roles include medical, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more.
