About the Role:
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits administration across all Masterpiece Flower companies. This role ensures payroll compliance, maintains employee records and deductions, processes garnishments, administers leave / PTO programs, and serves as a primary resource for employee payroll and benefits questions. The Payroll & Benefits Specialist collaborates with Human Resources, leadership, and third-party vendors to enhance the employee experience, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote operational efficiency, all while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
What You'll Do!
Payroll Administration
- Process weekly, bonus, and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on time
- Review and audit payroll data, timecards, deductions, and employee records
- Manage garnishments, direct deposit issues, payroll reporting, and year-end payroll activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Support payroll process improvements and system efficiencies
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Assist employees with benefit enrollments, life event changes, and benefit questions
- Maintain accurate benefit deductions and records
- Support annual open enrollment activities and employee communications
- Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, and state leave programs
- Coordinate leave documentation, tracking, and return-to-work processes
HR Support
- Assist with onboarding and employee record maintenance
- Support HR projects, reporting, and employee communications
- Provide excellent internal customer service while maintaining confidentiality
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of payroll and benefits administration experience required
- Multi-state payroll experience preferred
- Experience with Paylocity preferred
- Knowledge of payroll laws, benefits administration, and leave management
- Strong Excel, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPP, FPC, SHRM-CP, or PHR certification
- Experience administering FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs
