Our busy dog training facility seeks a self-motivated individual for a part-time Customer Service Specialist / Administrative position. Do you have a passion and take pride in a job well-done? Overview: Our Customer Service Specialist is a valued member of our desk staff that assists with the operation of our positive reinforcement dog training facility. We are open 7 days a week and hold over 70 classes a week, plus private lessons, host events and more.
This position entails interfacing with and providing information to clients via telephone, email and in person in a high visibility environment. You will be responsible for helping customers by providing dog training class information, accepting/handling class reservations, scheduling classes and ensuring minimum numbers are met to run classes, maintaining a client database using specialized software, processing daily payments including collecting payments at the register or online, and making sure they are properly applied, cashing out daily receipts. Additional administrative tasks can include auditing transactions, inventorying forms, ordering merchandise or supplies, advertising classes and special events, and other clerical duties as assigned. Opening or closing the building as needed and maintaining a clean environment. Animal care related office experience helpful. Experience using social media is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat in person in a timely and professional manner.
- Handle customer relations, manage class and calendar reservations and maintain customer database.
- Provide information about dog training classes and services.
- Document and update customer and class records and prepare rosters.
- Collect and process payments and prepare cash receipt deposits.
- Open/close the building and maintain clean environment.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Proficient in data entry, and database experience,with strong attention to detail.
- This is NOT a job where you will be interacting with dogs, but you should be comfortable in their presence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an office environment or similar customer service environment required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and database skills required
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and ability to provide a welcoming environment to our customers.
- Proficient in data entry with attention to detail.
- Good math skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Have the ability to work in a distracting environment while handling multiple job duties
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
The following would be a plus:
Experience with advertising, including preparing fliers, and publishing to various forms of social media. Familiarity with Constant Contact email platform.
This is a part-time job only (It will not lead to full time). Additional hours may become available for the right individual. You will generally be working a set weekly schedule (with occasional modifications). Shift generally will include some weekday evenings and a shift on the weekends (daytime into early evening). Flexibility to work alternative hours including weekdays to cover another person's shift on a short notice is a big plus.
