The Warehouse Traffic Control is responsible for managing and directing the safe flow of pedestrian and forklift traffic within the facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing traffic patterns, monitoring high-risk areas, and ensuring compliance with company safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and monitor the movement of forklifts, material handling equipment, trucks and pedestrian traffic throughout the warehouse
- Ensure all associates follow designated walkways, traffic lanes, and stop points
- Identify and communicate potential safety hazards or congestion areas in real time
- Support accident prevention efforts by proactively addressing unsafe behaviors
- Partner with supervisors and safety teams to reinforce traffic control policies
- Conduct routine checks of signage, floor markings, and barricades to ensure visibility and compliance
- Assist with incident reporting and documentation when traffic-related issues occur
- Provide guidance and reminders to associates on safe traffic practices

- Identificar y comunicar posibles riesgos de seguridad o áreas de congestión en tiempo real

- Colaborar con supervisores y equipos de seguridad para reforzar las políticas de control de tráfico

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or industrial environment experience preferred
- Strong awareness of safety practices and ability to enforce guidelines
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Ability to remain alert and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends if needed
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Frequent movement throughout the facility
- Forklift certification or familiarity with material handling equipment
- Experience in safety, traffic control, or warehouse operations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
