Quality Inspector (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Inspect incoming raw materials and purchased components for compliance with specifications.

· Perform in-process and final inspections to determine product acceptance

· Utilize calipers, micrometers, manual and digital gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards.

· Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, material specifications, engineering plans, and GD&T requirements.

· Coordinate external calibration services and perform internal calibrations on simple measuring devices.

· Verify calibration status and maintain calibration records for measuring and test equipment.

· Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on measuring equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary.

· Analyze inspection data and historical part information to support quality decisions and process improvements.

· Investigate testing and inspection discrepancies and communicate findings to appropriate personnel.

· Follow established quality systems, policies, and procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality system objectives.

· Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation.

· Communicate effectively with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers regarding quality-related issues.

· Adhere to all safety requirements and company policies.

· Maintain current job knowledge through training, educational opportunities, and review of technical publications.

· Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED, required

· Additional technical or quality certifications are a plus

· Minimum of three years of aerospace manufacturing experience required

· Experience performing inspections using precision measuring equipment

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements

· Familiarity with calibration processes and quality inspection techniques

· Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes

· Experience with ISO 9001 requirements preferred

· Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards preferred

· Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and closely follow directions

· Fundamental knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques

· Fundamental knowledge of CNC machining/manufacturing machining principles

· High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.

· Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written).

· Willingness to embrace and actively support the unique culture and values of Masterbilt

· Ability to focus on the tasks and details relevant to the position, while also switching quickly between tasks

· Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.

· This position is typically performed in a production environment and requires the ability to stand for extended periods of up to 6-8 hours. Duties involve frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items. The role requires regular use of hands for operating equipment, keyboarding, and writing, as well as the ability to read, respond, and communicate effectively throughout the day via phone, in-person, and computer. The individual must be able to listen, problem-solve, and respond appropriately in a fast-paced setting, while demonstrating fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. This position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a sporadic basis.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with hours based on a production environment, with occasional nights and weekends, depending on the needs of the position and the organization.
