Store Manager – Trading Card & Collectibles
Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and self-driven Store Manager to operate a Trading Card & Collectibles shop. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for running the store independently, managing inventory, handling all buying, selling, and trading, and organizing in-store events.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of the trading card market and is confident in pricing, negotiating, and making purchasing decisions. This role also offers opportunities to attend trade shows and help grow a community-focused brand.
Responsibilities
- Operate all day-to-day store functions independently
- Buy, sell, and trade trading cards using current market values (TCGPlayer, etc.)
- Price inventory accurately and negotiate deals with customers
- Manage inventory including singles, sealed product, and accessories
- Plan, organize, and run in-store events (tournaments, trade nights, etc.)
- Represent the store at trade shows, events, and local community functions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment
- Provide excellent customer service and build long-term relationships
- Track sales and ensure accurate cash handling and POS usage
- Assist with and eventually participate in social media content
Experience
- Prior retail or store management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of trading cards (Pokémon, MTG, One Piece, etc.) required
- Experience pricing, buying, or selling cards based on market trends
- Comfortable negotiating trades and purchases with customers
- Familiarity with platforms like TCGPlayer is highly preferred
- Experience running or participating in TCG events/tournaments is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable being on camera for social media content (when needed)
- Self-motivated and capable of running a store without direct supervision
