Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role involves working with various materials, including brick, stone, and concrete, to create durable structures and surfaces. The Brick Mason will be responsible for both new construction and restoration projects ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and blueprints.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and restoration tasks as needed.
- Install rebar and other structural supports to reinforce masonry work.
- Execute hardscape projects including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, and plastering to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on the construction site
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations throughout all phases of construction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in masonry or related fields such as carpentry or renovation.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques and hardscape installation.
- Familiarity with construction estimating practices is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, tile laying, metal stud framing, and welding is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols on construction sites.
- Excellent physical stamina; ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
