What are the responsibilities and job description for the SERVICE TECHNICIAN position at Master Muffler Shops Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Install Mufflers, pre-bends, Catalytic
converters, mig welding, Torch cutting, and bend hangers - R&R Shocks, struts, light suspension parts,
and simple CV axles - Basic Alignments
- Basic tune ups: Plugs, wires, coils, and fuel
system clean - Belt and hose replacements
- AC recharges
- Flat repair and tire rotations
- Tire installation and maintenance
- Calibrating TPMS sensors
- Test Drives
- Safety and Emissions tests
- Engine code reads and light diagnostics
- Perform brake inspections
- Replace pads, shoes, rotors and drums
- R&R Calipers
- Fluid flushes
- Oil changes and some fluid changes
- Oil, cabin, air, and transmission filter
replacement. - Light bulbs and batteries testing and
replacement - Light duty maintenance and repairs
- Be able to sell and promote products accurately
with confidence - Build relationships with new and existing
customers - Excellent customer service
- Make recommendations to customers
and explain additional services based on the manufacturer’s
recommendations - Maintain and promote the company and brand
- Ensure shop area is safe and clean
- Assist other team members when needed
- Comply with company policies and handbook
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience as a technician in a
professional setting. - Brake repair experience
- Safety and Emissions licenses
- Customer service experience a plus
- Must hold a current/valid driver’s license, have
a clean driving record, and must pass a background check. - Attention to detail in all their automotive
work. It is extremely important that we have a minimum “comeback” rate,
and that all our customer’s repairs are completed correctly the first time - Basic computer skills
- Tool ownership
- Welding Experience
- 1-year diagnostic experience preferred
- Scan tool experience
- Some ASE certifications a plus
