Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Custom Millwork Shop Laborer to support our manufacturing operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and precision are paramount. As a key member of our team, you will assist with the fabrication, assembly, and handling of millwork materials, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and safety protocols. Your mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools will help drive our continued success.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation of shop machinery and power tools used for cutting, shaping, and assembling millwork components
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse or shop environment, including loading, unloading, and storage of composite materials and wood products
- Follow blueprint specifications accurately by interpreting technical drawings and measurements for fabrication and assembly tasks
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, tape measures, and other equipment to perform precise dimensional measurements and quality control checks
- Support the fabrication process by machining materials according to shop math calculations and technical requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring adherence to project specifications and deadlines
Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or construction environments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with millwork fabrication processes including carpentry, machining, and assembly
- Knowledge of interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements
- Experience handling composite materials or working with wood products in a warehouse or shop setting
- Understanding of safety procedures related to machinery operation and materials handling
- Warehouse experience or background in construction projects is a plus
