Responsibilities
- Lead structured Taekwondo classes for diverse age groups, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Demonstrate proper techniques, stances, kicks, punches, and forms with clarity and enthusiasm
- Develop customized training plans that cater to individual skill levels and goals
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and celebrate achievements to motivate continued improvement
- Maintain a safe training environment by enforcing behavior management policies and safety protocols
- Assist with event organization such as belt testing, competitions, and demonstrations to showcase student progress
- Collaborate with other sports coaches and instructors to integrate martial arts principles into broader physical education programs
Skills
- Proven experience in martial arts disciplines such as Karate, Judo, or other relevant styles; Taekwondo certification preferred
- Strong background in sports coaching, teaching, or childcare environments with excellent behavior management skills
- Familiarity with swimming, climbing, cheerleading, basketball or other physical activities that enhance overall athletic development
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or health club settings
- Knowledge of teaching physical education principles and youth development strategies
- Lifeguard experience is a plus for programs that include water safety components
- Effective communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with team members
