Nursery and Greenhouse Manager

Job Description

**MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND EVERYDAY RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION** We request a copy of your driver's license before scheduling an interview.

Weekend availability is a must, especially in the warmer temperature days, as the greenhouses need to be checked frequently.

Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the day without undue strain; lifting and moving plants is a major component of this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Previous experience is necessary
• The primary duties of this position include the maintenance of our existing plant inventory and propagation and ordering of new inventory for sale.
• This position will be responsible for all watering, pruning, fertilization, and weeding of all container and field plants.
• This position is responsible for conducting inventory, plant nomenclature.
• This position orders and procures plants for inventory and sold work.
• This position will also be responsible for the general upkeep, cleanliness and safety of the greenhouse and field operation areas.
• This person will develop and implement a schedule to include irrigation, fertilization and other plant requirements.
• The grower will stage plants for the crews.
• Must be a self starter.
• This position is required to take continuing education courses or training seminars during the winter months.

Qualifications and Skills

Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
