Responsibilities
- Lead structured Taekwondo classes for diverse age groups, ensuring all participants receive clear instruction and encouragement.
- Develop customized training plans that cater to individual skill levels and learning objectives.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for kicks, punches, stances, forms (poomsae), sparring, and self-defense.
- Monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and celebrating achievements.
- Enforce safety protocols during all activities to prevent injuries and promote a safe training environment.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies.
- Organize belt testing sessions, competitions, and special events to motivate students and showcase their progress.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and staff to support student development both inside and outside the training facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of training equipment and martial arts facilities.
- Stay current with martial arts trends, certifications, and best practices to enhance instructional quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in Taekwondo, Kukkiwon certification is required.
- Strong background in sports coaching, teaching physical education or childcare environments.
- Prior experience working with children or students of various age groups with excellent behavior management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate martial arts techniques clearly while maintaining an energetic teaching style.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate students and collaborate effectively with parents and team members.
- Experience in health clubs or gyms is advantageous for understanding fitness principles relevant to martial arts training.
- Passion for fostering a positive learning environment that encourages discipline, respect, and personal growth.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to physical activity supervision such as lifeguard experience is beneficial but not required.
