Our programs focus on student safety, structure, and positive development.We are seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Staff / Janitor to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across multiple locations. This role involves general housekeeping, floor care, and minor facility maintenance. Because our programs operate in an EEC-regulated child care environment, this position requires adherence to state safety standards and completion of required background checks and training.Work ScheduleMonday – Friday9:00 AM – 11:00 AM5:00 PM – 7:00 PMSaturday / SundayAs needed (up to 8 hours per day)This position is ideal for someone seeking part-time maintenance work with occasional weekend opportunities.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Cleaning & Facility MaintenanceMaintain cleanliness of indoor and outdoor facilitiesPrepare the facility before and after program hoursEmpty and refresh trash bins dailyPerform general cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance tasks following EEC sanitization protocolsPerform floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and deep carpet cleaningConduct minor facility repairs including interior painting and small maintenance tasksSafety & Child Care Environment StandardsMaintain a safe and clean environment for students and staffEnsure cleaning chemicals are stored in locked, inaccessible areasNever leave tools, cleaning equipment, or supplies unattended around childrenIdentify and remove potential hazards such as tripping risks, sharp edges, or unsafe materialsFacility Monitoring & ReportingMonitor facility conditions and report maintenance issues to the supervisorMaintain the functionality of facility systems including lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and furnitureMonitor janitorial and facility supply inventory and report shortages when necessaryDocument site visits and completed work through basic written reportsLogisticsTravel between assigned sites using a reliable personal vehicleMandatory Requirements & TrainingMust be 18 years of age or olderValid driver’s license requiredAt least 1 year of housekeeping, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferredMust successfully complete the EEC Background Record Check (BRC) for Janitor and if interested in 7D driver, CORI, DCF, and SORI checks.Completion of the EEC Essentials 2.0 training series (approximately 10 hours covering health, safety, and child development) is required before or shortly after hire.Benefits & CompensationSick time: 1 hour accrued for every 30 hours workedMonthly attendance gift card incentives for employees with perfect attendanceProfessional development assistanceFree or discounted Tae Kwon Do classes for employeesOptional OpportunityInterested employees may participate in a 7D School Pupil Transport training program to obtain certification to transport children as a backup driver.
