Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing purchase orders for equipment and supplies by verifying specifications and price as well as verifying receipt of purchases and authorizing payment.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding their supply needs
- Process purchase orders, schedule and verify deliveries
- Support established logistical procedures to facilitate product arrival
- Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, etc.
- Act as a liaison between purchasing and the accounting department, passing along documentation on purchasing activities to ensure timely payment
- Develop and optimize profitable purchasing strategies
- Possess strong industry knowledge and research abilities
- Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations
- Research and compare suppliers, products, and services
- Communicate purchasing opportunities or potential market disruptions to leadership
- Maintain awareness of market trends, technology, and food safety
- Select the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency
- Recommend alternatives for expensive or otherwise problematic products
- Request cost proposals and negotiate best possible contracts and prices
- Attend all applicable meetings and trainings
- Perform other tasks as directed by your supervisor
Qualifications:
- Previous purchasing experience preferred
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient with Microsoft word, excel, and outlook
- Ability to be organized and follow up on tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- Pleasant and positive attitude
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
