We have an immediate opening for an HVAC service technician who will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial properties. This role requires the ability to work independently and provide reliable service to customers.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- Follow safety protocols and Florida HVAC regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers about system issues and solutions.
- Report directly to the Manager for daily tasks and updates.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
- Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods during diagnostics and repairs.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an HVAC certification program from an accredited trade school is preferred.
- Licensing/Certification:
- EPA Certification (required).
- Experience:
- 1 years of experience in HVAC servicing and repairs.
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system diagnostics and repairs.
- Understanding of refrigeration cycles and system performance.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills to explain system issues and solutions to customers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Work Environment
- Work in both residential and commercial properties.
- Perform tasks in outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme temperatures or harsh weather conditions.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, and other elements common in HVAC service environments.
Schedule and Work Hours
- Full-time position from Monday to Friday with irregular work shifts.
- Overtime may be required during peak seasons.
- This position may require on-call availability for emergency repairs during weekends or after-hours.
