Job Responsibilities
As a bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Your key responsibilities include:
Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using accounting software.
Maintaining General Ledger: Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts and correcting discrepancies.
Preparing Financial Statements: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Payroll Processing: Manage payroll operations, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and issuing payments.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Budget Monitoring: Assist in tracking budgets, identifying variances, and recommending adjustments.
Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist with internal or external audits.
Expense Management: Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
Must-have:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).

Compensation
Base Salary: $37,440 – $52,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit organizations or other regulatory requirements as applicable.
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks regularly to verify account balances through detailed review of debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounts.
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing financial data and ensuring proper documentation for audits or filings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role within corporate or non-profit settings.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or comparable platforms.
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and double-entry bookkeeping methods.
- Experience with governmental accounting standards if applicable to your organization’s operations.
- Skilled in bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entry posting, and general ledger management.
- Knowledge of payroll processing systems along with tax compliance experience related to payroll taxes.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation tasks.
- Strong communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams.
