As a Fiber/Coax Splicer, you are responsible to produce end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.  

In addition, you will: 

• Testing and troubleshooting continuity of fiber optic and cable networks 
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks 
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning etc. 

• Utilize a working knowledge of trunk and feeder lines, generally splicing a .625 or an .875 coax cable. 

• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Refelctometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter  
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, splicing schematics, understanding of light levels and dB loss 

• Work in outdoor utility construction sites 

About You: 

• Safety is a part of your day to day 
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality 
• Have experience splicing Fiber and Coax

• Have experience with provision and turn up on optical nodes - preferred

• Experience using equipment such as: OTDR, Fusion Splicer, Power meter (Light Meter)
• Able to complete daily paperwork for work completed (as build drawings)
• Able to read and understand designs such as: blueprints, splicing schematics, etc.

• You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• You have at least 1 year and basic knowledge of Coax splicing on Mainline projects 
• You are comfortable working on, driving, and operating a bucket truck  
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands on approach to your work 

• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime  
• Have a valid Driver's License with clean record past 3 years
• CDL (preferred)
