Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations for MasTec West with a strong matrix relationship to the SVP of Finance and SVP Operations and will be a key member of the senior MasTec West leadership team.  Lead the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and initiatives to optimize our operations, enhance service delivery, and maximize outcomes for our clients and employees. The Director will be an experienced business leader who can effectively communicate/collaborate at all organizational levels, inspiring a shared vision and clearly linking key strategic themes in aspects of our business and driving an aligned agenda. 


Responsibilities

  • Know/understand the business and its challenges; provide counsel & drive action to develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement framework aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Lead training and improvement teams as well as cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, analyze processes, and develop action plans to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs)/scorecard and metrics to measure progress, track performance, and drive accountability and business improvement across the organization.
  • Oversee and/or conduct regular reviews and assessments of programs, services, and operations to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and standardize best practices across the organization.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through the Senior Leadership Council (SLC) and reviews and planning. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of continuous improvement initiatives, making adjustments as needed to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives to include Monthly Governance and standard measures of Safety/Quality/Talent Development/Profitability.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership and the SLC on the progress and outcomes of continuous improvement efforts. Report/publish/communicate
  • Engineer end to end process ownership aimed at clearly defined RACI accountabilities including measurable operational controls to drive incremental, sustained continuous improvement. Report on same.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for continuous improvement within the organization. Partner with leadership to share and drive best practices across the organization.  Serve as subject matter expert. 
  • Build the team/focus on talent– assist partners in identifying, developing, coaching & mentoring talent; build capable West teams, empowered to build & execute a focused agenda; plan for succession

Qualifications

IDEAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of relevant industry experience in process improvement, engineering, operations, organizational development or related fields with at least two (2) years in an influential leadership role.
  • BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Mgt and/or related field highly desirable; professional training, certification and/or experience with Lean, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement fundamentals.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing continuous improvement initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to enhance organizational performance.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage resources effectively, and drive results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and inspire teams to embrace change.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze & interpret data, driving thoughtful recommendations & action
  • Demonstrated organizational development experience – aligning structure, people, & processes; managing transformational change.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, inspire, lead & develop talent.

Wage Range: 

$150,000 - $200,000/annually
