Responsibilities
Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time GIS Technician. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
- Create, collect, analyze and validate enterprise asset data and associated landbase data within an enterprise geographic information system (GIS) and other asset information storage databases.
- Provide GIS data analysis, data mining, technical support and database maintenance to meet internal and external customers’ requirements.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency with variety of GIS concepts, practices, and procedures
- ArcGIS 10.2 including ArcMap and ArcCatalog – intermediate proficiency.
- ArcGIS Model Builder - intermediate
- MS Access - basic proficiency
- MS Excel - intermediate proficiency
- MS Word - intermediate proficiency
- MS PowerPoint - intermediate proficiency
- SQL Knowledge – intermediate proficiency
- Relational database management systems - intermediate proficiency
- VBScript – basic proficiency
- Excellent ability to apply math skills to drafting problems such as scaling.
- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with GIS in utility industry (natural gas, electric, oil)
- FME – intermediate proficiency
- Python/ArcPy – intermediate proficiency
- APDM/PODS –intermediate proficiency
- Linear Referencing/Routing concepts - intermediate proficiency
- ArcGIS Workflow Manager – intermediate proficiency
- ArcGIS Data Reviewer – intermediate proficiency
- ArcGIS Online – intermediate proficiency
- Miner & Miner ArcFM – intermediate proficiency
Location: 3 days a week in office; 2 days from home
