Investment Reporting & Communications (IR&C) Team

The Opportunity
Investment Management is looking for an energetic, intellectually curious individual with strong analytical skills to join the Investment Reporting & Communications (IR&C) team as an Investment Reporting Analyst. This role will support investment reporting, communications, and strategy for MassMutual’s General Investment Account, and will partner with teams across Investment Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Finance, and external asset managers.
The Team
The IR&C team is responsible for communicating the General Investment Account’s strategy, asset allocation, risk exposures, and transaction activity in support of the Chief Investment Officer’s report backs to the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and business units. The team is currently under-going a multi-year data and reporting modernization project and is actively looking for a reporting analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, understands business goals, and manages multiple priorities.

Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
- Provide investment portfolio reporting and analysis for the Portfolio Management team, MassMutual’s business and corporate units, the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, and external rating agencies
- Support portfolio managers by monitoring portfolio cash flows, composition, risks, and performance. Assess portfolio results for consistency with portfolio strategy objectives
- Prepare liquidity forecasts, portfolio asset allocation, and on-demand exposure analysis
- Provide internal and external clients with ongoing updates about investment philosophy, process, and performance
- Work closely with portfolio managers and research analysts to determine system/analytical requirements in support of portfolio strategy objectives
- Provide data and design requirements for best-in-class dashboards, operational reports, and workflow processes
- Partner with teams across the organization by applying investment knowledge and other technical skills to help address data issues and implement data ecosystem enhancements
- Advance the interests of the department by serving in working groups outside of Investment Management when appropriate
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of investment reporting experience
- 1 years (Proficient) in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
The Ideal Qualifications
- Experience in analyzing data using business software such as: MicroStrategy, Alteryx, or other equivalent reporting/analysis tools
- Strong understanding of various types of investment instruments including fixed income and equity securities, alternatives, and derivatives for reporting and analysis
- Strong communication skills and ability to condense analyses into written and oral presentations and actionable recommendations to portfolio managers
- Knowledge of statutory investment accounting and reporting
- Employs a disciplined approach and detail orientation, with proven results in managing multiple deliverables
- Possesses excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team Player / Relationship Building: Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills; able to relate to and build strong relationships with diverse internal and external audiences/constituencies; leverages the ability to deliver effectively.
