Job Summary Summary Responsible for the safe collection, packaging, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensures accurate recordkeeping and supports a safe work environment through routine inspections, proper equipment operation, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Collect, segregate, and dispose of hazardous waste materials in accordance with established procedures and regulatory guidelines. Inspect, identify, label, and package hazardous waste for safe transport and storage. Operate and maintain waste handling, containment, and related equipment to ensure safe and compliant operations. Monitor and document hazardous waste accumulation areas, maintaining accurate records and compliance with storage requirements. Support waste reduction and recycling initiatives to minimize hazardous waste generation. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of waste storage areas, spill response equipment, and safety showers/eyewash stations. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Hazardous Waste/Biohazard Experience 1-2 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, including familiarity with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and other applicable guidelines. - Knowledge of spill response procedures, containment techniques, and waste disposal methodologies. - Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment and other safety equipment effectively. - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage waste inventories and maintain accurate documentation. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders. - Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy containers or equipment.
