The Instructional Technology Specialist will require the ability to collaborate on the design, development, and facilitation of training programs to help faculty and students take advantage of instructional technologies that support teaching and learning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides training in the use of the college learning management system (Canvas), mobile technologies (smart phones and tablets), digital media (microphones, webcams, etc.) , and Web 2.0 tools (wikis, web applications, etc.)
- Creates, maintains and updates support documentation for instructional technologies including but not limited to orientation materials, and technology handouts and guides for students, faculty and staff
- Assists faculty with video - screencasts, lecture capture, and educational video within their course content as requested
- Conducts orientations for faculty and students covering the learning management system
- Supports faculty in the development of new online, hybrid, and videoconference courses
- Ensure related applications and/or technology for the Canvas Learning Management System are functional in student labs and other appropriate areas of the college
- Assists in workshops that help faculty use technology to improve teaching and learning
- Contribute to the college's Open Educational Resource program by providing training and support to students and faculty
- Research and recommend technologies to improve teaching and learning
- Assists with tracking professional development of faculty - including the achievement of new online learning credentials and certifications
- Represent the Office of Online Learning on committees, at events, and various department meetings
- Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities as needed
- Performs related work as directed
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Instructional Technology; with two (2) years experience and/or training that includes computer operating systems, hardware/software installation/troubleshooting, and network system administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in Canvas LMS
- Experience working in an OER program
- Experience with managing outreach, scheduling and assessment of training programs
- Experience training faculty in the use of the learning management system

Additional Information:

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday; requires some early mornings, nights, and weekends. This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.
Salary: $58,319 - $67,081 Grade 5. Salary is commensurate with education, experience and based on the MCCC Classification Study.
Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
