High School Bookkeeper (12 Month) - 26/27 SY

The School Bookkeeper ensures accurate accounting records for receipts and disbursements within an assigned school or office. The School Bookkeeper is a vital member of the school's financial team, ensuring accurate and timely financial records. This position handles various financial transactions, manages school budgets, and generates reports to support school administration.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintains complete records of all financial transactions to include all of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for all student accounts and athletic accounts.
• Reconfiles monthly invoices from transportation for all sporting events and bus trips.
• Maintains financial filing system and records within an online payment portal (Square).
• Maintains all employee credit cards and reconciles the statements monthly.
• Assists in tracing errors and records adjustments to correct charges or credits posted to incorrect accounts.
• Supports ticket sales on GOFAN; enters automatic deposits into SCO.
• Reconciles checkbook and bank statements; checks and balances cash and negotiable instruments against receipted copies of bills.
• Posts requisitions, receipts, and disbursement information to appropriate ledger
• Maintains records, inventories, and other departmental reports; prepares, maintains and files purchase orders.
• Proofreads reports for accuracy and conformity to School Board policy; consults management when an error or discrepancy is spotted.
• Monitors and reports financial information to the supervisor.
• Prepares financial records for annual audits.
• Communicates with vendors to secure and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Supports the maintenance of a functional office environment; oversees the functionality of copy machines and makes calls for service and supplies when necessary.

Education and Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Five (5) years of experience in bookkeeping or administrative setting, ideally within the Education industry

Preferred

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 12-Month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.

Salary : $41,849 - $71,135
