Job Summary
Primary duties will be assigned by the General Manager and Executive Chef and will include overseeing all food smoking and food preparation. Must have experience with or knowledge of barbecue methods, with prior experience working with a commercial smoker strongly preferred.
Required
• In-depth understanding of smoking and barbecuing methods
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Industry-specific strategic and analytical knowledge
• Proficient culinary skills
• Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications)
• Must be at least 18
Preferred
• One year of smoking experience
• ServSafe certification
Typical Schedule
Days:
• Monday – Sunday availability
Hours:
• Varies, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Core Responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee meal quality within the guidelines of the menu, dietary requirements, and standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
• Oversee inventory, including monthly counts, and place orders as needed
• Ensure that items for service are prepared safely and correctly
• Understand food cost and actively work to minimize food waste and reduce overhead
• Drive catering vehicles
• Other duties as assigned by management
