Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and occupational health massages tailored to individual client needs
- Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their health concerns, preferences, and treatment goals
- Educate clients on the benefits of different massage modalities and recommend appropriate therapies for pain management and relaxation
- Maintain detailed treatment records, including client progress and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with health regulations
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and maintaining equipment
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, provide comfort, and foster a trusting relationship
- Stay updated on the latest massage techniques, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and industry best practices to enhance service quality
Skills
- Proven experience in massage therapy with proficiency in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to assess client needs accurately and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pain management techniques
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop customized treatment plans based on individual health conditions
- CPR certification and familiarity with safety protocols for emergency situations
- Experience working in med spas or similar healthcare settings is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor that puts clients at ease
- Understanding of occupational health principles relevant to workplace wellness programs
