Job Title: AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise Fellow

Location: Greater Boston, North Shore, Central MA and South Shore

Job description

The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship is an AmeriCorps program at Northeastern University's Office of Community Service & Civic Engagement. MPF is dedicated to increasing youth academic enrichment, college & career exploration and social-emotional learning through Out-of-School-Time (OST) interventions and data-driven programming. We are a passionate team that strives every day to empower young people to succeed as part of a national movement to achieve education equity. We do this because we believe that all young people have a right to Caring Adults, Safe Spaces, A Healthy Start, An Effective Education, and An Opportunity to Serve.

Each year, we place AmeriCorps Members (Fellows) at one of our partner non-profit organizations, city agencies, and schools across Massachusetts to lead out-of-school time programming for youth in grades 6-12 focused on mentoring, academic enrichment, and college and career exploration. Throughout their service year, Fellows develop valuable career skills and experience, in addition to the training, professional development and individualized support from MPF. Fellows also receive a stipend, health insurance, loan forbearance, free classes at Northeastern and other benefits, as well as join a network of MPF and AmeriCorps alums. This is a great opportunity for those looking for a meaningful year-long service experience or a jump start to their career in education, youth work, public service and/or community work.

If you believe in the power of relationship building to positively impact the life of a young person, this role is for you.
