- Perform mammography exams following physician orders and protocols.
- Gather patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
- Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and safety during positioning and transfers.
- Review images for quality and completeness, aiming for first-time acceptance.
- Operate equipment safely, optimize imaging techniques, and maintain cleanliness per guidelines.
- Conduct and document quality control tests, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- Accurately label, document, and store images in PACS/RIS; handle daily charge capture.
- Maintain the mammography suite’s cleanliness and inventory, and support training of team members.
- Communicate professionally, work efficiently in a team, and stay current with training and documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based Radiologic Technologist and Mammography experience.
- Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and mammography best practices.
