The Warranty Coordinator will assist in the coordination and execution of all warranty-related activities for bus and rail maintenance operations for the Everett Main Repair.
- Coordination of and submittal of all warranty claims for the MBTA including but not limited to New Equipment for Bus and Rail.
- Monitor vendor compliance to contracts and the reliability of major systems and selected components.
- Track claims for reimbursement of Labor, materials, and parts using MCRS2 and Excel.
- Use of MCRS2 to capture the entire process of warranties.
- Assisting in the implementation and use of the computerized maintenance system to track warranty work done on buses, components, and parts under warranty.
- Direct bus and rail maintenance personnel in the preparation of documentation related to the warranty programs.
- Run and review daily reports for tracking claims and failure trends.
- Analyze repair data for failure trends and recommend courses of action based on the findings.
- Assist bus and rail maintenance personnel in the disposition of parts and assemblies related to the warranty programs.
- Keep detailed records of the payment process of warranty claims, which includes the submission of account receivable documents. Familiarize yourself with Warranty Contracts.
- Assist as needed Vehicle Engineering on contracts.
- Attend meetings with Vehicle Engineering, Maintenance Directors, internal customers, and vendors as needed.
- Prepare for submission to the manufacturer of all claims related to defective parts.
- Track claims for reimbursement of labor and material costs.
- Lift and package materials for shipment to vendors.
- Provide Reports to Management of weekly progress within all aspects of duties.
- Assist with the receiving department as needed.
- Manager asset recovery: DPFs, Cores, Obsolete Parts, etc.
- Educate and Support internal customers as needed on warranty processes.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of materials management experience related to equipment maintenance and warranty management programs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with terms and general knowledge of vehicle/bus systems and subsystems.
- The proven ability to develop, implement, maintain, and support materials management and warranty processes and procedures.
- Proficiency with computer software, including MS Word, Project, and Excel.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Transit industry experience
- A High School Diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
- An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
- A Master’s degree in a related subject substitute for two (2) years of general experience.
- A nationally recognized certification, or statewide/professional certification in a related field substitutes for one year of experience

- Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned, directed, or necessary for this position, including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service
