About the Position
UMass Athletics is seeking an experienced Freelance Game Presentation Video Board Director to help deliver an engaging in-venue experience for NCAA Division I athletic events.
Working under the direction of the Game Presentation Producer, the Video Board Director is responsible for executing the live videoboard presentation while collaborating with the Game Presentation and Video Production teams. This position plays an important role in creating an exciting atmosphere for thousands of fans throughout the year.
Assignments may include football, men's basketball, women's basketball, hockey, and other home athletic events.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Game Presentation production switcher during assigned events.
- Execute the live videoboard presentation.
- Select and transition between available live camera feeds.
- Coordinate with the Game Presentation Producer and Replay Operator.
- Support fan cams, promotions, recognitions, sponsored features, contests, mascot elements, and other in-game entertainment.
- Collaborate with Video Production personnel to maximize available camera resources.
- Assist with equipment setup, testing, troubleshooting, and shutdown.
- Maintain professional communication with all Game Presentation personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating live production switchers or directing live video productions.
- Knowledge of live sports or entertainment production workflows.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced live event environment.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Previous collegiate athletics, professional sports, or live event production experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule
This is a freelance, per-event position. Most assignments occur during evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on the UMass Athletics home event schedule.
Compensation
Competitive per-event compensation based on experience, technical proficiency, reliability, and assigned responsibilities.
