What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute/Spare Bus Driver position at Mass Transit magazine?
Saco School Department is seeking Substitute/Spare Bus Drivers to safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities. Successful candidates will be committed to student safety, maintain a positive attitude, and work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.
Scheduled times would be
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Scheduled times would be
- Morning Routes: 6:15 a.m. ? 9:15 a.m.
- Afternoon Routes: 1:30 p.m. ? 4:30 p.m.
- Safely operate a school bus in accordance with all federal, state, and district regulations.
- Transport students to and from school on assigned routes.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain order and ensure student safety while on the bus.
- Complete required records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Valid Maine Commercial Driver's License (CDL), class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's (DMV) License.
- Clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass required background checks and physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to student safety.
- Experience driving a school bus preferred, but training may be provided for qualified candidates.
