Mass Installation, Inc. (MII) is seeking qualified applicants for positions as Field Water Meter Installation Technicians. MII will provide requisite training involving up to five (5) days of one-on-one instruction regarding proper installation and data capture procedures necessary for all new water meter installations. Operating out of Norwood, MA, since 1982, MII provides consulting, distribution, project management, testing, and installation services for residential and commercial water meters and water reading technology.
Qualified applicants should have a background in plumbing, or waterworks; applicants with experience in water meter read technology will be considered highly advantageous. Prospective applicants must pass a thorough background check and review of their driving record, have their own vehicle (but will be provided transportation allowance/compensation for fuel), and have their OSHA 10 card. Any additional licenses will be considered highly advantageous but not required, including a hoisting, confined space, and plumbing license. Most work is in Massachusetts, but applicants willing to travel throughout New England will be considered highly advantageous.
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday. Payment is based on a dual rate: Prevailing Wage rates determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are the basis for compensation while performing meter installations; minimum wage or an agreed-upon amount based on prior experience is compensation while not performing prevailing wage work (travel).
Prevailing Wage Rates vary by City / Town: pay is approximately $95-$110.00 per hour at Prevailing Wage Rate and Liveable/Minimum Wage at a secondary rate (~$15-20 per hour).
Requirements: OSHA 10, Drivers license, Reliable Transportation, Criminal background check, Plumbing or Waterworks experience preferred
