What are the responsibilities and job description for the Post-Doctoral Fellow position at Mass General Brigham?
Site: The General Hospital Corporation
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.
Job Summary
A full-time post-doctoral position is available at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Harvard Medical school in the laboratories of Drs. Mark Eldaief (Assistant Professor of Neurology) and Randy Buckner (Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience and Director of Psychiatric Neuroimaging). These laboratories are pioneers in the fields of functional neuroimaging, non-invasive brain stimulation, and network neuroscience.
This project involves studying the neural mechanisms underlying the efficacy of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to treat depression. The project will use state-of-the-art precision mapping of functional brain networks in the individual patient with depression. Next, each of these networks will be precisely stimulated with TMS in separate sessions, and the behavioral and functional readouts of these stimulations will be recorded with structured instruments and fMRI BOLD imaging.
