Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well-established Cardiology team. This position is based at our practice located at 260 Merrimac Street in Newburyport, MA. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The APP will provide 36 hours of direct patient care and 4 hours of dedicated administrative time each week. There are no weekend, holiday, or on-call responsibilities associated with this role.
The APP will provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care to patients across a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities include the evaluation and management of new, low-acuity consults, ongoing follow-up care for established patients, and the review and interpretation of diagnostic testing results. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced and highly collaborative cardiologists in a collegial practice environment that offers strong clinical support and the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients in an outpatient-focused setting.

- Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
