Post Producer

Mass FX Media is a Denver-based, design-forward post-production studio specializing in post-production, motion design, and visual effects for brands, documentary tv shows and films. We are looking for a Post Producer to be one step ahead of our fast pace and manage our team, coordinating post-production, motion graphics and visual effects projects through the post-production workflow. The right person would have post-production experience specifically managing edits and tracking graphics or VFX shots using a shot tracking system equivalent to ftrack or ShotGrid. Experience post-producing finishing work is a bonus.

We pride ourselves in being the experts our clients seek to lead them through the creative process, and this client-facing role must keep control of client expectations and project scope diplomatically and confidently. Project types include live action edits, explainer videos, infographics, title design, data visualizations, graphics packages and typography. Clients include documentary and narrative filmmakers, showrunners, and large brands.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for managing both the client and artist sides of the project pipeline
• This person will be expected to manage the full life-cycle of the project including managing the budget throughout the creative process
• Manage artist schedules and deadlines
• Creatively manage scripting, overseeing edits and editors, plus delivering the projects for review online and in-person, and receive and communicate feedback between the client and our creative directors
• This role is strategic and hands-on, requiring someone that can think ahead, stay organized under pressure, and guide projects with clarity and precision.
• Our firm is small, but mighty, and we need to run as efficiently as possible without sacrificing an ounce of quality. This role will also act as QC for rounds going to the client.

Requirements

Equipment/Software Used

• Apple/mac workstation. Must be OS X proficient.
• Standard word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets experience required)
• Project management software or spreadsheet management for the post-production workflow of an animation or VFX studio
• Ftrack for Project Management

• Working knowledge of the animation or visual effects process with Nuke, After Effects and/or Cinema4D or equivalent

• Experience with scheduling people with project management tools like ftrack, gantt schedulers, calendar apps or spreadsheets
• Experience tracking and actualizing budgets for film or video projects
• Solid time management for self and the team
• Flexible, positive attitude in the face of high pressure and stressful situations
• A sense of humor is required

Education And Experience

• 5 years of experience producing or coordinating for post-production projects that include specifically animation, motion design or visual effects
• Shot tracking and progress tracking for multiple deliverables in a single project either with spreadsheets, Shotgrid, or ftrack
• High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  
  

Expected Hours Of Work

This is a hybrid role at our studio in Wheat Ridge, CO with four days in office and one remote working day per week, working approximately 40-45 hours per week and is exempt from overtime. Typical hours fall between 8am and 6pm, Monday through Friday.
