Role Description the Concrete Construction Foreman is a full-time, on-site role located in and around the Greater Boston area, responsible for leading daily field operations on concrete construction projects. This position oversees crews, coordinates tasks, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing labor, equipment, and materials; reading and interpreting drawings; directing carpentry and formwork; and supervising placement, finishing, and curing of concrete. The Foreman monitors quality, enforces safety protocols, conducts jobsite inspections, and documents progress and issues. The role also involves communicating with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors, resolving field challenges, and coaching team members to maintain high performance standards.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on skills and leadership experience in concrete construction, including carpentry, formwork, and site coordination.
- Proficiency in quality control practices, with the ability to inspect work, interpret plans, and ensure compliance with specifications and building codes.
- Experience working around or directing heavy equipment, with a solid understanding of safe operation and efficient sequencing of work.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating crews, interacting with supervisors and clients, and providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Foundational knowledge of civil engineering or structural concepts related to concrete work is beneficial.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to OSHA standards and company safety procedures.
- Prior experience as a foreman, lead, or supervisor on concrete or general construction projects preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, lift and move materials as needed, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical schooling in construction-related fields is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Greater Boston area.
