About This Position
Mass Audubon is looking for a dedicated Land Steward with a passion for the environment. The Land Steward works closely with the Property Manager and property staff to maintain a ninety-acre environmental education center and wildlife sanctuary including trails, meadows, pond areas, gardens, tools, and equipment. The Land Steward will learn ecological management techniques, wildlife monitoring skills, and horticultural best practices.

Responsibilities
- Patrol trails and assist in property maintenance
- Participate in invasive plant control and meadow and pond restoration projects
- Participate in wildlife and vegetation inventory and monitoring projects
- Assist in the care and moving of goats used for meadow management
- Assist in the care of gardens including pruning, planting, watering, weeding, and lawn care
- Assist with logistical set up for education programs and events
Qualifications

- At least 18 years of age
- Applicants must be in good physical condition with the ability to move materials and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs
- Ability to walk long distances over wooded trails
Compensation, Benefits and Perks
This position’s pay rate is $16.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for health insurance benefits.
Work Schedule
This position begins in May 2026 and ends in October 2026. 25-40 hours per week, with one weekend day required.
Other Requirements
Employees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
