What You'll Do:
As an Environmental Services Utility Worker, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing the best quality environmental housekeeping service, through continuous training, to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
Our Environmental Services Utility Worker is responsible for the following:
- Completes all assigned work orders in a timely manner as assigned by the supervisor, including picking up and disposing of trash, maintaining flooring, moving and maintaining furniture, appliances, and light fixtures. Picks up and delivers equipment, supplies, furniture, etc. for residents, activities, and Masonic Village functions. Maintains an understanding of regulatory standards as it pertains to Retirement Living.
- Uses housekeeping equipment in a safe and effective manner as trained by supervisor. Performs routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs to ensure all equipment remains in a clean and operable condition. Maintains specialized equipment, such as buffers, extractors, pressure washers, and floor scrubbers.
- Assists with the setup and breakdown of chairs and tables assigned by the supervisor in coordination with event planning.
- Reports upon first notice any environmental situation which could pose a threat to the safety or well-being of residents and staff.
- Perform specified light maintenance of renovated accommodations, preparing for new residency as renovation process are completed.
- Display safe and effective use of cleaning agents and equipment to accomplish assigned tasks in accordance with the standards established by the manufacturer and Masonic Village as it applies to housekeeping procedures in Retirement Living.
- Assists residents with packing, unpacking, storing, and moving personal belongings. Removes all personal belongings and trash from vacated units. Inspects condition of vacated units and reports findings to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
- Monitors and disposes of household waste and regulated medical waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Responsible to be in the on-call rotation and assists with snow operations on campus by shoveling and salting during winter weather conditions including the possibility of off hours call-in.
- Maintains work areas and vehicles in an orderly and clean manner, maintaining a safe work place. Performs tasks in a safe manner. Insures the proper care and use of tools, equipment and supplies.
- Completes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required. Generates work orders for additional work or tasks identified in the field and completes or submits them as appropriate. Maintains an accurate record of time for cost distribution and payroll. Communicate pertinent information with utilities supervisor and team members on the different shifts.
What You Must Have:
- A high school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Must be willing to receive on the job training.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Light maintenance skills preferred
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver License. The ability to drive a box truck preferred.
- Must have good written, oral, organizational and basic computer skills.
- Must have a desire to work with the older adult population.
