Role Description:
Mason is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Engineer and Estimator with a strong background in structured cabling and low voltage infrastructure estimation, including copper (Cat6, 6a), fiber, equipment racks, and associated hardware. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience working on bids and coordinating with general contractors (GCs) on commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities & Required Skillset:
- Proven experience estimating low voltage and structured voice/data cabling projects in commercial environments.
- Strong familiarity with bid processes and working with general contractors throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial low voltage systems and standards, including Cat5/6/6A, fiber, and related cabling infrastructure.
- Ability to perform accurate project takeoffs, develop bills of materials, estimate material/labor costs, and generate turnkey proposals.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting floor plans, riser diagrams, elevations, and detailed low voltage system drawings.
- Skilled in material counts, length assessments, and comprehensive takeoff preparation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and industry-standard quoting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce scopes of work, system narratives, and client-ready documentation.
- Organized and self-driven with the ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- RCDD and/or BICSI certifications are a strong plus.
- Experience with ConnectWise, quoting software, or similar systems is a plus.
Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
