Qualifications Required:
- Valid CDL or ability to obtain
- Good driving record
- Must be able to pass physical, drug tests & criminal history check
- The ability to pass the commercial driving test once trained
- Enjoy working with children
Job Description:
- Shall exhibit safe driving habits at all times and operate the bus with safety of the passengers as the primary concern.
- Shall conduct routine safety inspection of the bus before each run.
- Shall check fluid and oil levels as required and fuel the bus as necessary.
- Shall report all mechanical problems to the mechanic.
- Shall maintain a clean and safe environment within the bus.
- Shall endeavor to maintain a dependable route schedule.
- Shall report all accidents to the Transportation Supervisor and cooperate with the investigation of such accidents.
- Shall be responsible for the discipline of students on the bus, and shall cooperate with building administrators and the Transportation Supervisor in resolving discipline problems.
- Shall promote positive public relations with students, parents and other school personnel.
- Shall maintain confidentiality for all school-related information.
- Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- This position requires long periods of sitting.
- The position requires occasional lifting.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Work Year: Beginning with the 2026-2027 School Year
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday when school is in session.
