What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Teacher position at Mason Music?

We are currently hiring part-time music teachers in the Birmingham area for piano, voice, guitar, and drum instruction across our six studio locations. - Starting at $26.50/hour
- Higher starting rates available based on education & experience
- Part-time, hourly W-2 position
- Consistent weekly teaching schedule
- Afternoon/evening availability preferred
- Opportunities for additional administrative, event and performance-based work also available
- Teach fun, engaging private music lessons to students of all ages and experience levels
- Build positive, mentor-style relationships with students and families
- Help students grow in confidence, creativity, discipline, and musicianship
- Create lesson plans tailored to each student’s goals and interests
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents
- Prepare students for recitals
- Collaborate with an encouraging and supportive administrative team
Ideal candidates are:
- Strong musicians with proficiency in piano, voice, guitar, and/or drums
- Excellent communicators who work well with both children and adults
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
- Positive, patient, and encouraging teachers
- Comfortable adapting lessons to different learning styles and personalities
- Passionate about helping students develop a lifelong love of music
Teaching experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates without direct experience who have strong musical backgrounds and natural interpersonal skills.
