What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geriatric Physician Assistant position at Mason-Dixon Mobile Medicine?
Mason-Dixon Mobile Medicine provides inclusive and equitable primary and palliative health care to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in central Maryland. Most of our patients are homebound seniors. We are particularly interested in serving LGBTQIA elders, therefore applicants *MUST* be LGBTQIA affirming.
The practice is growing rapidly and we're looking for a Physician Assistant to provide primary care services to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in Frederick and surrounding areas.
We are working with local adult medical day care and non-skilled residential facilities to arrange on-site primary care services, so your main practice locations will be in the facilities. Other duties depend on patient load and may include urgent in-home appointments, transitional care management.
Prefer 10 (ten) or more years of general healthcare experience, with 5 (five) years caring for elderly patients and homebound patients. Experience with LTC, SNF, and post-acute rehab is helpful but not required. The successful applicant will be accustomed to entering a wide range of personal residences and living situations.
Applicants with interest or experience in the following areas will receive special consideration: (a) advanced duties as defined by the Maryland Board of Physicians; (b) cognitive care planning; (c) palliative care; (d) geriatrics; (e) dementia.
Maryland license, CDS & DEA required. You provide malpractice insurance to start, negotiable after the first year. You will be required to submit to a background check. Oue EMR is athenaOne.
A working knowledge of E/M coding is helpful because your compensation is directly related to services provided.

He hasn’t given her any insulin since she came home because “she was out.” You find her in bed, isolated from the rest of the home, complaining of severe pain in the hip. Her L hip and knee are flexed. Any movement causes severe pain. She is otherwise stable. Fingerstick glucose reads “HIGH” ( >600 on this particular glucometer). 1.
