This is a highly visible opportunity for a sophisticated wealth planning professional to serve as a subject matter expert on tax strategy, wealth transfer, liquidity events, and tax-aware investment solutions. Unlike a traditional financial advisor or wealth management position, this role does not involve building or bringing a book of business. Instead, this individual will partner with internal sales professionals, financial advisors, and HNW/UHNW clients to provide advanced planning expertise and help translate complex tax and investment concepts into practical strategies. The ideal candidate will bring approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience, significant exposure to complex tax and wealth planning matters, and the ability to confidently engage with senior financial professionals and sophisticated clients.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert on tax and wealth planning strategies for financial advisors, HNW/UHNW clients, and internal teams.
- Advise on tax policy, tax planning, mitigation, and management strategies.
- Help advisors and clients evaluate the tax implications of investment and portfolio decisions.
- Provide expertise surrounding asset transitions, wealth transfer, concentrated positions, and liquidity events.
- Educate advisors on incorporating tax-efficient strategies into investment portfolios.
- Provide guidance around tax-aware investment solutions, including direct indexing, custom portfolios, long/short strategies, exchange funds, and options-based hedging strategies.
- Deliver presentations, consultations, conference sessions, and customized planning discussions for financial advisors and clients.
- Translate complex tax, estate planning, retirement income, business succession, investment, and wealth transfer concepts into clear and actionable recommendations.
- Develop thought leadership and client-facing insights around tax policy, planning strategies, regulatory developments, and investment solutions.
- Monitor industry, regulatory, and legislative developments and communicate their potential implications.
- Identify emerging tax and wealth planning opportunities that can add value to advisor and client relationships.
- Collaborate across investment, sales, product, and other internal teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 8–10 years of experience within wealth management, investment management, tax planning, advanced planning, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of meaningful experience working with sophisticated financial planning or tax strategies.
- Strong knowledge of tax planning, tax mitigation, tax-aware investing, and the tax consequences of investment decisions.
- Experience working with HNW/UHNW clients and/or supporting financial advisors with complex planning needs.
- Understanding of direct indexing and tax-aware portfolio construction.
- Ability to discuss tax-advantaged investment products and sophisticated portfolio strategies.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to simplify highly technical concepts for advisors and clients.
- Comfortable serving as a visible subject matter expert in meetings, presentations, conferences, and other client-facing settings.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Advanced credentials are strongly preferred, including one or more of the following: CFP® | CPA | JD | LLM | MST | MBA | CEPA | CAP or comparable tax/wealth planning designation
Why Consider This Opportunity?

The Strategist will have the opportunity to influence advisor conversations, work with complex HNW/UHNW situations, contribute thought leadership, and help shape how tax-aware investment strategies are positioned and implemented.
The organization offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment support, wellness benefits, and volunteer programs.
