Job Description
The special education paraprofessional will work closely with one or a group of special needs students regularly to provide them with the physical help and emotional support they need to gain the full benefits from their educational placement under the direction of the supervising teacher(s).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
- Willingness to work with students on academics, social skills, and activities of daily living, and participate in training to develop such skills.
- Supervise/assist students across all internal school environments and outside on school grounds.
- Assist and support professional staff across the curriculum.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior support plans for students
- Provide school-based, classroom, lunch, and arrival and recess supervision
- Assume any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal and/or the Teacher.
- Demonstrate dependability, initiative, responsibility, and organizational skills.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve social, emotional, and learning problems
- Follows specific standards, policies, and procedures of the building and the district
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings
- Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum: High school diploma/GED; associate degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
- Cori and fingerprint clearance are required

SALARY: 22.65/hr
