Role Description
This is a contract role for a System Administrator based in Lexington, KY, with some work-from-home flexibility. The System Administrator will manage core infrastructure, execute complex troubleshooting, and provide high-level technical support across multiple client environments. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of our clients’ IT systems while supporting internal process development and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities
• Administer and document processes, SOPs, and configurations across diverse toolsets including monitoring, security, and RMM platforms.
• Act as an escalation point for entry-level technicians and junior administrators.
• Execute advanced MACD (Move, Add, Change, Delete) requests and client configuration changes.
• Build, manage, and troubleshoot multi-site networks — experience with Fortinet and Ubiquiti is a plus.
• Conduct in-depth system audits and align recommendations with strategic security goals.
• Provide occasional on-site support for installations, upgrades, and emergency repairs.
• Contribute to process improvement and automation, particularly through PowerShell and Microsoft environments.

Qualifications
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a System Administrator or IT Administrator role (MSP experience preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Windows Server, and Active Directory.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and backup systems.
• Experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune, NinjaOne, or equivalent RMM platforms.
• Proven ability to create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and standard configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

• Experience supporting HIPAA, CIS, or NIST-aligned environments.
• PowerShell scripting or process automation experience.
