The Plant Manager is accountable for all aspects of plant performance, including safely delivering all products on-time, with the right quality, and at the targeted cost. The ideal candidate must demonstrate knowledge and expertise in their departmental subject area, including lean manufacturing principles, departmental strategy development and execution, and departmental technology. They will coach and develop Operations talent, mentor project teams and ensure linkage of corporate objectives to manufacturing activities.
Critical to this function are the planning and managing of budgets and coordination of facility initiatives. Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee all elements of day-to-day plant operations to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) commitments are met in an agile environment.
- Develop and deploy long-term (1-3 year) plant strategies that align with corporate objectives and targets.
- Balance the day-to-day execution of operations with long-term vision achievement.
- Work across locations with other plant leadership to benchmark and share standard processes, and identify solutions to common challenges.
- Maintain a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Think abstractly and implement action-oriented solutions to ambiguous or undefined problems.
- Establish plant policies, procedures and coordinate plant operations.
- Drive overall operational excellence and continuous improvement through the application of Lean practices and processes.
- Foster healthy communication channels across departments and functions at all levels.
- Possess a solid background in Lean Manufacturing.
- Demonstrate leadership in people management, motivation, and teambuilding skills.
- Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Build capabilities, tools, and processes to analyze and deliver globally cost-competitive products, including evaluation of make vs. buy decisions.
- Ensure financial compliance and controls are maintained in alignment with the company's overall requirements and principles.
- Create a strong operations talent base and have a positive impact on morale by coaching and motivating team members in support of their optimum performance and career development.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of operations experience in Planning, Material Management, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supervisory or Production Management.
- 5 years proven track record as a Plant Manager experience or progressive experiences in plant management including operations, production management, and value stream implementation.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
