Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales while providing personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout their visit
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to support smooth restaurant operations
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for bills and tips
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and sales tracking
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and ability to build guest rapport quickly
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing time during busy service hours
- Culinary experience or understanding of food preparation enhances ability to answer guest questions confidently
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with serving, bussing, host/hostess duties, and basic math for cashiering tasks
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices in hospitality, guest relations, and upselling strategies
