Come join our small, family-operated business! We are seeking a dedicated team player to start in our slip casting and greenware department. In this role, you will assist in casting large molds, preparing clay batches, and cleaning greenware. While no previous manufacturing or ceramics experience is required, the ideal candidate must demonstrate natural manual dexterity, an ability to work well with their hands, and an acute attention to detail. Applicant must be able to lift and maneuver 70lbs with moderate repetition.
Core Responsibilities
- Mix Clay: Prepare dry clay into liquid slip by closely following precise recipes (involves heavy lifting).
- Test Slip: Check slip consistency and density to ensure perfect balance before casting.
- Slip Casting: Prepare molds, participate in the active casting process, and clean up the workspace according to a predetermined casting schedule (involves heavy lifting).
- Kiln Operations: Assist the team in loading and unloading kilns safely when needed.
- Shipping Prep: Safely box and pack finished ceramic products according to company quality guidelines.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep the casting areas clean, organized, and free from obstructions.
Position Requirements & Physical Demands
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift, maneuver, and move up to 70 lbs with moderate repetition.
- Mobility: Comfortable with frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, and twisting throughout the shift.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to accurately read work orders and measure ingredients with high precision.
- Quality Focus: Dedication to maintaining consistent product quality and safe workplace procedures.
- Reliability: Maintain regular, punctual, and consistent attendance.
We are currently looking for full time team member that has availability Mon - Fri, 6am to 3pm. Starting at $18.00 per hour with production bonuses available after introductory period.
