What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler, Building and Grounds (INTERNAL ONLY) position at Marywood University?
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Maintenance scheduler's primary responsibility is implementing a maintenance plan by bringing together all resources needed to complete it. This role involves assembling and coordinating the information, people and all necessary resources to complete the department's work load. Scheduler is responsible for developing and implementing a weekly departmental schedule, including but not limited to preventative maintenance work and setup for campus events. Scheduler is responsible to apply purchase order costs to assets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analytical ability and skills to operate a computerized maintenance program and produce reports
- Demonstrated ability to manage short deadlines, changing priorities, and follow work process
- Knowledge of facility maintenance procedures and systems, understanding preventive maintenance
- Ability to quickly learn maintenance service provider roles, the roles of contract services, proper sequencing of repair work and facilities and construction terminology as related to the performance of maintenance work
- Working knowledge of Excel Word and CMMS programs
- The scheduler is part of the essential personnel group on campus and needs to report to work during emergency situations including inclement weather
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, CMMS and Colleague
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma with 3 years working within a Maintenance Department
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid PA Driver's License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequently stand/walk, seated, performs desk-based computer tasks. Occasionally climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach, work above shoulders, grasp lightly, use a telephone, writing by hand, lift, carry, push, pull objects that weigh 50 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Can experience temperature extremes hot cold
- Travel when necessary
EXPECTED SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
