What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite Health Assistant, Student Health Services position at Marywood University?
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations
- Work closely with Practice Manager
- Operate and maintain office equipment, including computer, fax, printer, copier
- Maintain physical and electronic filing systems
- Answer phone calls/emails, schedule appointments, direct students/families to the appropriate campus resources as needed
- Maintain spreadsheets, and communicate, with faculty/staff of clinical programs (ie: nursing, nutrition, physician assistant, respiratory therapy, Communication/Speech)
- Ensures deadlines are met and adapts to changing priorities
- Assists in ensuring students have met the necessary requirements of the Student Health Services department
- Develop and implement interactive health education and events presented in high-traffic areas of the campus. Topics may include: health eating, combatting stress, weight management, physical activity, tobacco cessation, etc.
- Efficiently communicates and coordinates scheduling of campus and community partners for health-related events; and assisting at these events
- Ensures all department functions are met in the Student Health Services department
- During non-student facing times (i.e.: breaks, summer months, etc.) must show initiative in preparing the office for the upcoming semester. This includes record storage/purging, guiding students/families to appropriate resources, and overall maintaining of the Student Health Services office
- Will need to maintain open communication with the Practice Manager, especially during times outside of the fall/spring semesters to ensure the office is prepared for the upcoming academic year.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma.
- Strongly Preferred: Previous experience working in Student Health on a college campus; previous utilization of electronic records; a background in health education and/or health promotion.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have word processing/computer skills. Experience with Excel, Word and proficiency in the use of office equipment.

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, 35 hours per day, 52 weeks per year
