Maryville is seeking a full time laundry technician to join our environmental services team. Maryville is located in Beaverton on the tree-lined, 43-acre campus of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. Schedule:
This is a full time position, scheduled 37.5 hours per week. The Laundry Technician's schedule includes 3 days at the washers and 2 days in the housekeeping department. Schedule rotates days from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Laundry) and 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (housekeeping). Must be available to work rotating weekends. 


What you'll do: 

  • Complete duties assigned to you by the Environmental Services Supervisor. 
  • Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc. as directed by supervisor for residents.
  • Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry.
  • Deliver clean linens to units.
  • Clean common areas, resident's rooms and bathrooms; including: Vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash cans, dusting, and mopping floors.
  • Ensure each resident's room is cleaned based on the resident's needs.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues.
  • You may keep track of cleaning supplies and request refills or replacements when necessary.
  • You will be standing or walking the majority of your shift, and need the ability to lift, bend, reach and twist as necessary.
  • Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to residents and fellow employees
  • Follow infection control policies to keep staff and residents safe.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Follow Maryville Policies and respect the Residents Bill of Rights.
  • Complete monthly in-services by required due date. 

What you'll need: 

  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various laundry equipment.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and respectfully with Maryville Residents, their guests, and other staff. 
  • Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to communicate, cooperate, and work as a team to finish the job in a timely matter.
  • Able solve problems and work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to bend, twist, and stoop, lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to stand for prolong periods.
  • Able to grip, push and pull laundry carts.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
